چکیده

Noise pollution caused by inflow turbulence is a major problem in many applications, e.g., propellers and fans. The Amiet leading-edge noise prediction model widely applied the design of silent fans, strongly relying on accuracy spectrum. von Kármán energy spectrum accurately models energy-containing range inertial subrange However, this does not incorporate dissipation turbulent leads to incorrect far-field estimates high-frequency range. In study, empirical formulations are presented for frequency based experimental data. Two passive grids were used generate nearly isotropic turbulence, which was characterized hot-wire anemometry. These results showed that depends intensity velocity fluctuations freestream velocity. expressions proposed predict had fairly good agreement with measured data research from literature. predicted significantly affected range, causing decrease level up 17 dB highest frequencies.

Ideal MHD turbulence: the inertial range spectrum with collisionless dissipation

The inertial range spectrum of ideal (collisionless/dissipationless) MHD turbulence is analyzed in view of the transition from the large-scale Iroshnikov-Kraichnan-like (IK) to the meso-scale Kolmogorov (K) range under the assumption that the ultimate dissipation which terminates the Kolmogorov range is provided by collisionless reconnection in thin turbulence-generated current sheets. Kolmogor...

Energy Spectrum in the Dissipation Range of Fluid Turbulence

High resolution, direct numerical simulations of three-dimensional incompressible Navier-Stokes equations are carried out to study the energy spectrum in the dissipation range. An energy spectrum of the form A(k/kd) _ exp[-/3k/kd] is confirmed. The possible values of the parameters c_ and/3, as well as their dependence on Reynolds numbers and length scales, are investigated, showing good agreem...

Noise generated by a leading edge in anisotropic turbulence

The noise generated by the interaction of a turbulent inflow with the leading edge of a flat plate or an airfoil is a dominant sound source, for example in rotor-stator configurations of fans and air condition units. Aeroacoustic research of this noise source often includes performing wind tunnel experiments, where the required incident turbulence is generated by passive grids or meshes. In cer...

Far-dissipation range of turbulence.

The very small scales of isotropic, Navier-Stokes turbulence at Reynolds number Rλ ≈ 15 are studied by high-resolution direct numerical simulation (DNS) and by integration of the direct-interaction (DIA) equations. The DNS follows the tail of the energy spectrum over more than thirty decades of magnitude. The energy spectrum in the far-dissipation range 5kd < k < 10kd is well-fitted by k α exp(...
